Eurovision 2015 – Estonia

2015 is shaping up to be Eurovision’s year of the hot duets. The yin and yang of complimentary female and male voices can be very pleasing to the ear, and even enticing when done right. Perhaps this is why Elina Born and Stig Rästa won Estonia’s national competition with their song Goodbye to Yesterday.

I watched the official video and wasn’t enticed. It was cheesecake-y and typical. I didn’t get a sense of how talented they are or how good the song is, but I could tell there was something there. So, I watched their winning performance at Eesti Laul 2015.

So. Much. Better! I love this. What a great performance. Both of them are smoking hot with strong voices and simmering tension between them. And who would know from the official video that Stig Rästa can play the guitar so well?

Now I’m torn, because I really like Norway’s Mørland and Debrah Scarlett. Looks like we’ve got a real competition going. Best wishes and love to them all!
