Today I Loaded My Kindle With…
Top Sights Travel Guides is offering up some exciting Asian locations, including one high on my bucket list, Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.
I fell in love with Ha Long Bay while watching the movie, “Indochine.” The place looked so magical, I could barely believe it was real. My husband, who is Vietnamese, assured me it is real and told me the name, Ha Long, means descending dragon and the rock formations mark where a dragon literally descended into the bay. I knew I had to go. Here’s hoping sooner rather than later!
Before continuing on with the freebies I picked up, I did want to let everyone know that Amazon is having one of their Big Deals. Over 400 Kindle books are being offered for $3.99 or less. This offer lasts until June 24, 2012. I haven’t picked up anything yet, but I am tempted by more than a few items. Most of these books are being offered at a significant discount, so check ’em out while you can.
Today’s other freebies include the usual mishmash of fiction, a blogging idea book, a game and a somewhat controversial recipe book. “Dinner for One” has some low-starred reviews, but I like the concept because I’m at home for lunch and would like some recipes for wholesome single servings. After reading the reviews, it turns out that some people were put out by the use of the metric system and the Swiss author’s dislike of microwave ovens. When I lived in Denmark, I didn’t have a microwave oven, and after some mopey moments, I adapted quite nicely. Steam is your friend when it comes to heating up leftovers. Anyway, I took a look at the sample, liked what I saw and grabbed this book.

These visions are so realistic, Carina demands that extra vigilance is taken especially on the night of April 14th.
